Season 4 · nobody on waiversA player of 26 or older cannot simply be optioned to the minors: his club must designate him for assignment, which puts his contract here for 24 hours for any other club to claim. He goes to his club's minors straight away, so the roster spot is free while the claim window runs. If nobody claims him he stays there, and must spend 2 of his club's games in the minors before he can be recalled. Every claim is settled by the league. Who has claimed a man is shown to the league and to the club that waived him; another club sees only whether it has claimed him itself.
